How to Prep for an Engagement Session

1. COMPLIMENT – not match. Pick similar color families, rather than the same colors!

2. LAYERS – especially for winter sessions! It’s easier to layer rather than have to put on and take off your heavy coats or jackets!

3. PATTERNS – They are great, but not generally when both of you to wear the same patterns, or have an outfit that attracts more attention to itself than to the two of you for this session! Think simple, and accessorize!

4. ACCESSORIES – are awesome! Especially watches, bracelets, etc. Pairing them to something that matches your personality which will give us tons of great details!

5. BACKUP – Try to pack one ‘dressy’ and one ‘casual’ outfit in case there is an opportunity for outfit changes, or in case of wardrobe malfunctions, so you can pivot without a worry!

6. HANDS – We’ll give you all the guidance you want for posing, but hands might be a big focus, given that amazing ring! Take care to moisturize, trim, and maybe even do a date night to get manicures beforehand!

7. FACE – We want everyone to be comfortable! Opt for natural style makeup unless you have a specific style/personality you want to show off!

8. FEET – Heels are awesome for lengthening legs, but terrible for walking. Bring a pair of comfortable backup shoes to walk around in as well for your engagement session!

9. RINGS – We love closeups of the ring, so we suggest having it cleaned, or even just giving it a good home cleaning prior to the shoot for our macro detail shots!

10. HAVE FUN – The process of planning a wedding may be stressful but we hope you’ll enjoy the engagement period together! It’s a once in a lifetime experience, and we’re so excited to be a part of such important memories!

Congratulations!
